The Tiger Eye News

Cortney Yoder
I’m Cortney Yoder, a Sophomore this year at Washington High School. In my spare time I like to read, sketch, and spend time with close friends. I’ve joined journalism this year because I love creative writing and sharing what I love to do, with others. I’m interested in all topics, naturally. I enjoy seeing how all people view certain situations, and trying to develop stories that capture the message, while being respectful towards others. My passions are helping people, animals, cosmetology, being open minded towards mental health, political issues, sports, media, art, etc. I danced for six years at Studio 136 Dance Center, which was like home to me, before I started to venture out and discover other things. I loved the freedom in movement you had, it’s like a way of expressing your words without having to speak. My outlet now is to try and put everything into words. This being my first year as a member of The Tiger Eye News, my goal is to focus on areas of the school that often aren’t recognized. The goal is to bring awareness to students and/or give advice for how to live your best high school experience. Upcoming events and important topics will often be discussed, as well. We cannot wait to start sharing our ideas and spirit with this school year, 2019-2020!
