September 23, 2020
The Big Ten football season was cancelled back in August but it was announced September 16th, 2020 that the season is back on. The season will now open October 23-24 and Ohio State will face Nebraska. The site has yet to be determined. The Buckeyes will face rival Michigan on December 12, 2020.
The Big Ten teams will play eight regular season games with the Big Ten Championship scheduled for December, 19, 2020.
Three former Massillon Tigers football players are eager to get the season started. They are Ohio State offensive lineman Thayer Munford, Ohio State wide receiver Austin Kutscher, and Michigan State wide receiver Tre’Von Morgan.
On his twitter page, Thayer said: “No words to explain how exited I am to compete again.”
Tre’Von Morgan: “I didn’t even see this but it feels really good, at first just being unsure and then just not getting the news just gives me the chills because I’ve been hurt for two years and I haven’t played a game for a very long time, so I’m excited for the opportunity that lies ahead.”
Austin Kutscher: “I think it has made me more motivated than ever because we put in all the work prior to the season then it got postponed and that brought us down mentally. But now we have a sense of hope to have a season and we’re getting more and more hungry day-by-day. It’s go time now.”
